Multiple award-winning rapper, Medikal, born Samuel Adu Frimpong, has recounted the days he had to hustle on the streets just to make ends meet.
In a video sighted by Ghanaflaver.com on Instagram, Medikal, who is speaking in an interview with actor, Kwaku Manu, said life had not been all rosy for him like many people are made to believe. According to the Omo Ada hitmaker, at one point he had to go out to sell phones at Kwame Nkrumah Circle, a suburb of Accra, just to get some money for his upkeep.
Medikal cited examples of Hammer serving as the stepping stone for Sarkodie and Samini doing the same for Stonebwoy and likened it to how he was also ‘blessed’ by Criss Waddle. The Ayekoo singer has made a name for himself over the years and has racked up the cash as he is considered among the list of wealthiest musicians in the country currently. Medikal is married to actress, Fella Makafui, and the two have made waves following their nuptials.
Speaking about musicians who are always on the grind, YEN.com.gh earlier reported that award-winning music duo, DopeNation, dropped a video on social media that seemed more like a subtle jab to naysayers and critics following their exit from Lynx Entertainment.
The video, which was sighted by YEN.com.gh on the Instagram page of the Zanku boys, sees them singing along to a song that is playing in what looks like a studio.
The content of the song, clearly an encrypted message, asked haters of the group to mind their own business and not meddle in their affairs.
