Our progress in Africa is slow due to Religion – Sarkodie

Sarkodie 1

Sarkodie in an interview with DJ Vlad on Vlad TV has spoken on what he thinks about people identifying him as a Christian and how he feels about religion in Africa.

In his opinion, he noted that he personally feels religion is the reason why development is ‘crawling like a tortoise’ in Africa.

The rapper remarked that Religion has made people afraid to do things and also people tend to be hypocritical due to this.

Michael Owusu Addo as he’s known in real life added that he feels people take religion stuffs way too seriously in Africa.

Below were his words:

“I think my approach to religion is way different from a lot of people especially from where I am from. I think in Africa, our progress is being slow because of religion…the fear of doing stuff. But we always turn it around to be hypocritical.”

“Growing up and learning more, I think there’s a lot to Christianity that impedes progress which I think in due time people are waking up… a lot of people just go overboard… I think my people out here, they take it way too seriously.”
