Takoradi: Man who returned from abroad to complete his building project shot dead in daylight robbery
A 61-year-old Ghanaian who returned from Switzerland with his wife to complete their building project has met his untimely death after he was shot dead by armed men in Takoradi.
The sad incident is said to have happened at Amanful, near the Takoradi-Anaji lorry station in the Western Region.
The deceased, Charles Kwakye and his wife, Monica Nda aged 45 returned to the country barely two weeks ago to finish their building project only to be met with this tragic incident.
According to a report filed by MyNewsGh, the couple had gone to purchase some material for the project when they were attacked by six armed men on motorbikes.
One of the robbers got hold of their travelling bag containing an amount of GHC12,700 and some foreign currencies. Whiles struggling with the robbers for his possession, one of the robbers shot him in the chest making away with the bag.
Charles Kwakwy was rushed to the hospital but couldn’t survive. His wife, however, sustained injuries to the face and is still responding to treatment.
